Chevy Trucks Prepare for Battle at 2020 Truck Warz 956

Hosted by RGV Truck Performance, Edinburg, Texas will be rocked by Chevy power all day on Saturday, February 29.
Every four years, the month of February gains an extra day. The leap day is the result of the Earth orbiting the Sun every 365.24219 days. Thus, it’s a special day for those born (and will be born) on it, and for fun traditions dedicated to February 29, which will be a Saturday this year.
It’s also the perfect day for Texas’s RGV Truck Performance to host its annual Truck Warz 956, which it will this year. Held at Edinburg Motorsports Park in Edinburg, Texas, a suburb of McAllen an hour north of the U.S.-Mexico border. There, all sorts of Chevy trucks will gather to do battle on the drag strip; Saturday night’s all right for fighting, after all.

And what will those Chevy trucks fight over? On the quarter-mile, there will be top prizes for turbocharged pickups, daily drivers, and top-end monsters. And if you want to bring your best trash talk and stacks of cash with your Chevy, there’s grudge racing to be had, as well. Last year’s battles even pitted F-body cars against the trucks! The artillery will be ferocious!

If you think you’ll be safe by staying away from the drag strip, though, think again. The Truck Warz will also be fought on the show lot. There, Chevys will duke it out with Fords, Rams, GMCs, and others to take as many of the 20 spots as they can in the Top 20 Best of Show showdown. There will be lots of pretty Bow Ties all over the place, from slammed square-body C10s and timeless classics, to modern-day welding rig trucks all cleaned up from the oil fields.

How much will it cost to bring your Chevy to the battlefield of Truck Warz 956 2020? Last year’s admission to the carnage was $30, while spectators paid just $15, and kids got in free.
As for the rules and spoils of battle, those will be announced in the near future. The festivities are expected to kick-off at 4 p.m., with gates opening at 2 p.m. Last year’s Truck Warz 956 lasted into the midnight hour, and it’s likely to be the same for 2020.
