Chevy C-10

Movie trucks don’t get much cooler than this scene stealer from F&F 4!

As silly and unrealistic as they might be, it’s hard not to love the Fast & Furious movies. Maybe it’s just how ridiculously over-the-top they are, from the stunt scenes to the over dramatic acting. But more likely, we just like to check out the many cool cars in each flick. And, of course, explosions. So, when we spotted the Chevy C-10 used in the opening scene of the fourth F&F movie on eBay, we were obviously pretty stoked.

Most movie cars are notorious for being total junk. But this orange 1967 Chevy C-10 looks pretty fantastic and largely intact. Obviously, as the seller states, some parts of the truck are there just for movie purposes. That includes the 10-speed tractor shifter, huge exhaust stacks, and air tanks. But the rest of the truck is actually pretty darn cool and usable.

That includes the Chevy 502 big block under the hood, which sports a Holley carb, Hedman headers, and MSD ignition. The large motor produces a claimed (and healthy) 490 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is actually a 3-speed automatic, but that wouldn’t fly in a movie franchise known for excessive amounts of dramatic shifting (hence the fake 10-speed).

The best thing about this Chevy C-10, of course, is how it looks. The lowered stance and flat bed make this thing look like some kind of futuristic, Mad Max-esque hauler. Plus, any fanboy on the street is going to lavish attention on it everywhere it goes. And if anyone doubts that it’s the real deal, just whip out the paperwork that shows “Universal City Studios LLP” as the previous registered owner.

With all that, the asking price of $32,500 actually seems pretty reasonable. Sure, the build quality might lean more toward clapped out junker than show truck. But the fact that you’ll be able to belt out quotes from the F&F franchise while riding around in a cool Chevy C-10? Priceless!
