Chevy Thinks It’s Finally Time to Fix the Corvette Z06’s Issues

Nothing is worse than talking big game and not being able to back it up. Sadly, that’s been the humiliation many Corvette Z06 owners have had to face when they’ve had to think-twice about unleashing their massive horsepower.

A recent statement from Chevrolet states that they’ve begun working on a solution for the Corvette Z06’s woes, and that engine overheating is their primary concern. As you could imagine, a supercharged V8 with 650 horsepower produces a lot of everything, but specially a lot of heat, and that’s lead many ‘Vettes to melt, combust and overall take a dump.

Many owners chose to downright skip track days, and baby their machines with the hopes of not causing any damage, which they’d later on have to fight GM about proving whether it was a manufacturer defect or not. Part of the solution is to add more vents, more cooling components, and other items that would target heat management at high speeds.

While most Corvette fans are looking forward to the mid-engine Corvette, the new generation C8 and more, nobody can understand why it’s taken General Motors such a long time to take action on these issues.

Perhaps they got tired of the lawsuits!
