Hennessey to offer packages for the C8 Corvette that offer various performance upgrades, including up to 1,200 horsepower.

We already know we love the C8 Corvette. With all the raving reviews about the handling capabilities and driving characteristics, we can’t wait to get behind the wheel of one. There are even rumors of the ZR1 coming with a mind-melting 900 horsepower. However, there is one man that sees that number and thinks it just doesn’t quite cut it. Why not give it a little bit more, right? Better yet, why not 400 more horsepower, bringing it up to an even 1,200. That man is none other than John Hennessey.

According to the Hennessey Performance website, they intend not only to add power to the C8 but other performance upgrades as well. This includes Brembo brake packages, carbon fiber aero upgrades, including the front splitter and rear wing, as well as adjustable suspension.

“Over the past several months, we have had hundreds of inquiries from C8 buyers wanting to know what we will be offering for the new Corvette. Thus, we created an online questionnaire and have received over 250 completed forms and getting more every day. The customers are telling us what they want and big surprise – they want more power!” said Hennessey

While the stock engine is not well equipped for this kind of output, Hennessey will pull apart the new LT2 Engine and install forged steel rods and aluminum pistons. The beefier internals will allow this mas amount of power to be run reliably.  Additionally, they plan to beef up the stock dual-clutch transmission to safely accommodate the additional power.

Furthermore, the 1,200 horsepower build, known as “HPE1200,” will not be the only available package. They also intend to offer a supercharger option, as well as basic tuning services. The big hang-up now is production delays and the fact that the C8 ECU is supposedly pretty hard to get into. We haven’t even addressed the best part, though. Everything comes with a warranty!

“From mild to wild, we plan to offer a wide variety of track-tested parts and upgrades that come with a warranty. We’ve modified over 500 C7 Corvettes since 2013 and expect to upgrade many more C8 Corvettes starting in 2020!” said Hennessey.

Future C8 Owners can fill out the questionnaire on the Hennessey website. It asks what your budget is, what mods you like, and the power you’d like to have. We certainly can’t wait to see some of these beasts on the streets!
