Mecum-bound Chevy Blazer Restoration Looks Incredible

One-of-a-kind project is now available at Mecum Auctions.

You never know what you’re going to find at Mecum Auctions.  This restoration takes an older version of the Blazer and gives it a stunning new look. With its color scheme, design and capabilities, it’s making quite a splash.

Exterior

The first thing you’ll notice about the this restoration is, of course, its striking red paint job that makes it immediately stand out. The other color you’ll notice right away is the matte black of the removable top to the car. The two colors offer a mesmerizing contrast that entices you right away. Chicago Bulls, anyone?  There are hints of silver in the rims, handles, logo, bumpers and other trim to complete the look.

It’s not a lowrider that almost scratches the ground, but it has been significantly lowered to remove that formally huge gap above the tires that older Blazers are so well-known for. You probably want to avoid speed bumps, but that’s a price I’d be willing to pay.

The Billet Specialties wheels stand out, too — 22-inch rear wheels and 20-inch front wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Outside, this version of the Chevy Blazer is enticing, but the interior is just as intriguing.

The Interior

As with the outside, the inside continues the vibrant red color scheme. Chevy dashboards have changed quite a bit over time, and this one combines the classic dash with new features such as the Bluetooth-enabled stereo, and AC, which you’ll be thankful for this summer.

The bucket seats are a nice tough, and both rows of leather seating recline.  Behind the second row, you’ll see enough space for storage in the trunk next to the subwoofer that will make sure you’re both seen and heard. If you’re not sure what to put in the trunk, it even comes with a matching surfboard and Blazer mural.

Under the Hood

When you pop the hood, you’ll find the immaculate engine — still using the same red and black color scheme. The LS3/525 HP V-8 engine works with the 4L60E automatic transmission and enhanced suspension to make this car a modern version of an older phenomenon.

As an added bonus, this Blazer can handle a lot. It can hold its own through all types of terrain with its high-performance capabilities, although I personally wouldn’t take it off-roading.

An Instant Classic

When the Chevrolet Balzer came around in 1969, it became an instant classic. Its legacy lives on through today. Now, this modernized version is bringing the nostalgia with the technology of today.
