What’s Up in the Forums: Silverado Tows House and Hauler

Forum member shares incredible video of her dad’s Chevy truck rescuing a stuck rig.

Ever wonder just how much your Silverado is capable of towing? Sure, you can simply look at the manufacturer’s ratings, but that’s only what Chevrolet “recommends.” Plenty of folks exceed those ratings, however unwise that might be. But sometimes, you might just find yourself in a situation where towing a massive load is necessary.

Such was the case with forum member Heather Wagner recently. She and her family purchased a new manufactured home, but the weather was far from ideal for delivery. Thus, the delivery truck found itself in a sticky predicament. Luckily, Heather’s dad was able to come to the rescue, and she snagged a picture for us to marvel at.

“It is a little difficult to tell in this picture but that is my Dad’s 2014 Silverado 2500 diesel pulling the International hauler. We had a new manufactured home delivered in December and the hauler couldn’t get it moved through the grass. It took the Chevy to pull it through. Thought this was an interesting photo to share and a great testimonial for the power of the Silverado!!”

The picture seems to provide proof, but the incredible feat does seem hard to believe at first. Luckily, gearbox‘s request for video was quickly granted. Despite the soft, wet grass, the diesel, four wheel drive Silverado doesn’t even slip a tire. The whole thing is rather melodramatic, which is obviously a good thing.

So if you ever happen to pass a rig in need, rest assured that you can play hero with no problem. The mighty Silverado won’t let you down, even when the task isn’t exactly within Chevy’s recommended guidelines.
