Default 1994 Chevy Pitman arm stud spinning

Im trying to take the castle nut off the pitman arm but it just spins with the stud. I tried prying but still wont separate. Thinking of buying a electric impact gun to see if it works. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes the stud is spinning with the nut. I am replacing the steering gearbox and pitman arm. I dont have a angle grinder, but am gonna buy a impact gun tomorow and pray it works. If I did have an angle grinder it would be hard to get it in there. Im trying to keep the steering gearbox in until im ready to pull everything out.

I had same problem on a bmw once and messed with it for a long time before I found there was a hex socket in end of the threaded shaft. No clue if GM did same (would bet not as it adds cost) - but easy to check.
