1996 Chevy k1500 swap axles from a k2500?
I have a 1996 Chevy k1500 lifted 10" and 37"super swampers. I want better axles to take pressure off tranny. Can I just swap axles with a k2500 close to the same year model? And what will I have to change

I don't believe the 9.25 "k2500" front is compatible with the 1500 frame. If you plan on offroading what you really need is a solid axle swap in the front and a 10.5" 14 bolt in the rear. That calls for a lot of time and $$$.
If you aren't really going offroad, gears are probably more important than the axles themselves. 4:56 or 4:88 would be minimum for 37" tires.
If you have a 10 bolt rear end, a 9.5" 14 bolt is a great upgrade at anytime. They are cheap, easy to install, and can be come stock with 6 or 8 lugs.

I've been doing research and I think I'm just going to buy new gears for front and back. I want 4.56 gears. Any suggestions on what brand or where to get them for about $500?
