Default 91 k1500 electrical power loss.

So I have a 91 k1500. I've recently done a motor swap for a built 69 350. Runs great, but I kinda just bypassed all the electrical bull except for what was needed: power to distributor, gauges, lights, fuel pump. Well I eat driving along one night and my truck just stops. Running gear and power train are fine but no power to guages (the battery isn't even registering as charged), doesn't turn over, however my running and headlights work still. It did pop the 30amp metal fuse for power ignition but that was it. Anyone know what wire got melted or grounded out to make this happen and what other possibilities of what might have occurred? Im kinda thinking the ignition control module got fried.....? Thanks

You running a carb or the TBI unit? What is running the ignition system on a 1969 350 cubic inch mill? A fusible link wire might have gone south.
