Default 98 Silverado 3500 454 over heating

Hello all!

I am a newbie here so apologize if this is a burnout of an old thread.....

My 454 is over heating, temp gauge starts crawling up once it warms up. Only has 59k original miles... but it is 20 years old. I just replaced my thermostat, temp sender, temp switch, water pump and fan clutch. Still over heating.

Tomorrow I will backflush the cooling system, test my new thermostat in boiling water and see what the truck does with no thermostat. I've basically replaced everything except the radiator. Any suggestions?

All help appreciated!

Drove the truck no thermostat, ran apps 230+/- (if 210 is the center of gauge, it ran at 3/4). Boiled the thermostat, and it did open all the way, I believe the thermostat I bought is a 190.

I'll bet it's time for a new radiator. Also check the fan clutch

You may be right, that is the only thing j haven't replaced yet, the radiator. When running, I take off the cap though, and I can see the coolant moving and flowing.... The fan clutch is brand new as well (also, yes I did buy the correct rotation &#128514
