Cool upgrade
I found
today, because I was researching the annoying door chimes that the GMT400 trucks have. What bothered me most is that with the truck running, the buzzer stays on with the door open. At first I was out looking at the truck, looking at the push switch in the door jamb, trying to remove it (and failing) when I came across some guys simply switching out the original buzzer from that out of a GM car, the one that everyone talks about is in the 90's Camaro, but is also in a lot of other GM cars. From what I have seen it makes a less annoying sound, and most important for me, seems to turn off when you open the door. Now, as a warning, I have had a lot of trouble finding this part new. I have visited the local parts stores in my area, and no one stocks them, or frankly can even find them in their system, so that means looking in junk yards, or on websites like eBay. So that's all, just figured I would pass on the knowledge, I will drop an update if I ever get one of the door chimes, and tell y'all if it actually works.

Ok, it was a success, I went to my local pull a part and they had a Pontiac Firebird, same car, different badge than the Chevy Camaro. And sure enough it does not make the same annoying sound as the original buzzer did, but best of all it turns off with an open door with the truck running! If you are curious and want to do this I found this picture that shows where the noise maker is. All you have to do is pull out 2 or 3 screws and you are in.
