Default rear end swap

ok.. I have a 1992 c1500 the pinion bearing went out. i have an 02 tahoe with a bad engine but a good rear axle. would that axle work in my silverado?i need to get it running asap so i can work.

Measure the overall length. I doubt if they are the same but might be close enough.
Odds are you would have to move the spring perches and shock mounts, which is an easy job if you can weld.

Then you have the ujoint. It may be the same since they are both half tons, if not conversion ujoints are available for almost anything.

Different size rear brake drums could cause some issues to deal with as well.
