Default 2005 Silverado heating issue

My dual control heats correctly, EXCEPT that it will only heat the compartment. The heat always comes from the main heat vents...even if I switch it to defrost or foot. I suspect it is the actuator doors, but not sure. Any ideas?

inspect the actuator and see if it is moving. if not, swap the blend door actuator with one from an easily accessible location. they are all the same. while the actuator is off, you can check the blend door shaft and splines for damage and free movement.

just do not power the actuator when its removed from the door splines or it will move out of range.

the actuator probably will need calibration when replaced.
