Default Please help 2002 Silverado 1500. crank/cam correlation Malf.

I'm 23 and i purchased my first Chevy truck about a year and a half ago...I love it! Nothing fancy but its a 2002 silverado 1500. I never had a problem with it until about 4 or 5 months ago and it broke down on me due to my crank/cam sensors. I had a local mechanic work on it and he got it running but my engine light is on and its that time of year to get my E-check(Cleveland) I plugged it in to a code reader and it said camshaft to crankshaft correlation malfunction? PLEASE HELP i do not want expired plates. I've tried everything but that damn engine light just wont go off...
