I have a 2000 silverado 1500 4x4. I just bought it and it's in decent condition. I want to basically restore it and give more umph. I was thinking about finding a 4l70e transmission because of its resistance to higher horse power. I would need that transmission because once the 5.3 (213000 miles) gives out in it I plan on putting in a 6.0. My question is on what truck can I find a 4l70 on and are the 4l70 4x4? I'd really appreciate the help.
