Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 Chevy pick-up truck 2 wheel drive? I ask because my neighbor is having problems with his truck and I'm thinking it could be a clogged filter.

Alright, thanks! It was chugging, spitting and sputtering and then one day would not start. Fuel additives would not help. Anyone have any other ideas besides a fuel filter as to what the problem could be in case the problem is not the filter?
Another symptom was it would take awhile to start like you would have to hold the key forward for even up to 30 seconds before it would finally start. The engine would keep turning and turning over until it would finally fire and run.

Back in the old days of carburetors, that was often a problem with the choke, but FI engines dont have chokes.

I had a 2000 Dodge Neon that the fuel pressure regulator would leak the pressure off after it sat for about a 1/2 hour. I'd have to turn the key to the on position for about 3 seconds about 3 or 4 times for the fuel pump to build up pressure again. After that it ran fine unless I parked it for 1/2 hour or more. Then I'd have to do the key thing again. Never did change the pressure regulator. I was told by a mechanic that the fuel pump would only run for 3 seconds if the car didn't start. He told me about the 3 second "fix".

So let me get this straight, just for the record: We are speaking of a 2004 Chevrolet C-1500 two-wheel drive pickup truck with a fuel injected gasoline motor.
Not a Dodge, not a hybrid, but a full-on GM fuel-injected gasoline powered motor in a standard C-1500 pickup?
Is that correct?
