08 5.3 AFM Bad Lifter Rebuild or Replacement
My 08 Silverado 5.3 has 160,000 miles more then a couple dents and a collapsed lifter. If it was in pristine condition I could justify a Jasper or other rebuilder , like 5 or 6 grand installed. I need a cheaper route, since the 4.8 was in lots of 08 Silverado trucks , is non AFM and competitively cheap like 1400 with 70,000 miles, I think that's the direction I need to go , but most engine swap shops want to put only an original motor back in . Help me decide if this is the best route and what shop in the de /Philly area I should trust to do the swap ?
