I have a 2011 chevy silverado 4x4 with a leveling kit. it came stock with 265s, I was curious if I can put 285s on it without the tires rubbing or doing any shaving or cutting of the fenders?

There were a couple Rim Diameters (17 & 18") that ran the 265 in that year. If you'll tell me which you're running now, like... 265/??r/??
I'll try to give you a Profile number, which won't throw you so far off on the Speedometer and performance.

But, yes, I've seen several here on the forum that say they'll work,
IF that's all you needed to know.

If the OP takes my advice, he will be utilizing the expertise of a good mechanic. Forty years of auto repair, and tire selection are MY credentials.

Just changing his tires a couple sizes, is FAR from being awful.

The OP won't need much if any help in locating the Tires, They're made be every Manufacturer.

You're saying that my advice is not reliable, that's a direct ATTACK, and I shall bring your post to the Administrators attention.

Greetings sean, welcome to the Forum.

If my "warning" to BakerSmith upsets you, I'm sorry. It's not the first time he's attacked me, or other tenured members here. I've seen him attempt to divert Users to other Forums as well. To my knowledge, I have never answered a question ask by him (about repairs) which he could have taken wrong, or thought I was incorrect. I just don't understand why he's attacking like he is.

There are quite clear rules in the Forum Protocol, which clearly state, that kind of verbiage, is not permitted. There's a "right" and "polite" way to disagree with what someone says here.

I and several other Members here are very experienced Mechanics, and if he would only read some of the very valuable information we have offered to other Members, he would realize his accusations are foundless.

We do not get paid for our help here on this Forum. It's a volunteer endeavor, which we do from the goodness of our hearts, to help others save some money, and, offer those opinions as a guide to those Users.

No one here, disserves those kinds of attacks, experienced or not.

I'm with Houston on this one. I work in the Tire industry all day every day (Discount Tire Company) and I've seen guys put 295/70/17 with a leveling kit on stock wheels ( I don't recommend this) or 285/65/18 without any modifications. It honestly depends on how the OP's vehicle is set up. Hopefully, the OP has found some helpful information and been able to modify his/her vehicle to their satisfaction. I don't exactly know what Baker's deal is, and honestly it's none of my business. Maybe he's been burned on advice from forum members, etc. The list is endless. OP, I'd be more than happy to help you out if you have any tire/wheel related questions. I'm sure there's several other members willing to help also, like Houston. Good luck and hopefully you've found some helpful information and continue to contribute and give back to other members..

I am in the motorcycle industry and I see no harm with this. I do it once in a while. Suck bikes, attires and the cool motorcycle helmets are useful and would work well for the high end sector of the economy. Which protects you when choosing to use the motorcycle.
