Default Same issue with 2020 RST

Hello I have the same problem. Truck has 6K miles on it, first time I have had a problem. Starter just spins, battery is fine. Tried disconnecting the battery and waiting 30 mins, etc. I got an oil change about 2 weeks ago and and rinsed off the truck at the car wash today. I'm in colorado, but temps were in the 40's today (warm enough). Truck started right up after washing, stopping at the grocery store. Parked in my driveway to vacuum out an hour later the starter just spins. Hoping its just the cold, but of course it happens 30 minutes after the service department closes on a Saturday, so now I have to wait until Monday. Had a big road trip planned (16 hour drive one way), leaving tomorrow. Anybody else figure out what's going on here? Luckily it will be warm tomorrow, hope the sun helps.

Thanks!

Update. I'm an idiot....operator error. Turns out the truck won't start if the gas pedal is pressed. I have weathertech floormats, and sprayed them down as part of the wash, they are supposed to snap in place, but guess I didn't get one in right and didn't notice it in the dark. Figured it out once I got anfr enough and attempted to slam the gas pedal. I will quietly slip away now.

Same thing here except I have factory all weather floor mats. It took the service tech over 3 hours to figure out it was touching the gas pedal. I contacted Chevrolet to appeal the $400 charge and they took care of it. If the truck knows enough not to start with the pedal touched, it should be smart enough not to turn over and display a code to say what is wrong.

Default We are all dumb

Ok I can admit when Im dumb! I sure do love the internet because it save me a tow and a lot of anguish. After washing my 2020 black widow m it just cranked and would not start. Tied putting on the charger no go. Checked this forum and guess what ?? The Damn floor mat was in wrong and over lapping the gas pedal. Pulled it out placed in in correctly and wallah it started right up.

Thank all of your replies regarding the floor mat problem.
Will need to get into just why the engine is designed to not start with the throttle pedal down some.

Default All weather mats

If the all weather mats are on the gas pedal it will do this everytime. Most likely happened after cleaning the mats.

Default Wow!

The same thing happened to me last night. I had cleaned out my 2022 2500. Wife and I get into the truck to leave and engine won’t turn over. I tried jump starting the truck. Couldn’t figure out what was going on. Had a tow truck on the way to tow it to the dealer. Found this thread. Went out and checked floor mat. It was on the pedal. Fixed the mat, truck fired right up. My question is why isn’t this feature in the owner’s manual under a trouble shooting section? This something you only know if you’re on the team that designed the vehicle.

Welcome to the forum.
I suspect they don't put things like that in the owner's manual because it would be as big as the Encyclopedia Britannica if they put every dumb thing that people could do that would prevent it from doing something.

Default Dumb Things

I get that. However, I imagine it has happened to more people than just the few people who have posted on here.

It happened enough that most, maybe all, the manufacturers put some restraint mechanism on their floor mats now. I suspect it's been mandated by the NHTSA when there were instances of floor mats slipping up while people were driving, causing unintended acceleration.
