Hi all.

I have a blue 2006 half ton Avalanche with the 4WD package and 4.11 final drive. Got the beast as a trailer puller and it suits us fine.

My question is this: Has anyone else put a rack over the box? I want to add a roof rack on rails over the box covers for the spare tyre. Under in the salt and mud is a bad location. I can easily fabricate a bracket just forward of the tailgate where there are already bolts but I don't know where to start digging for a forward location for the other rail. Has anyone else done this or do I have to invent the wheel for myself? Looking forward to getting to know the group and maybe contributing some myself. I recently re-covered my driver's seat and the supplier, though not cheap, gave me a really nice fitting new seat cover. They sell the seat heater elements too.
