Exclamation Need aftermarket backup camera (NO Nav system)

I want (need!) an aftermarket back-up camera system for my 2008 Avalanche. It's loaded but I didn't get the NAV system so there is NO dash monitor. But REALLY need help backing up. I have the rear bumber "sensors".. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate it!

You can get something like the VR3 wireless backup camera from walmart.com. The camera attaches to your licence plate and the small monitor attaches somewhere on your dash, kind of like a portable GPS. I think it cost $89. That would be the cheapest and easiest way and you can return it with no problems if you dont like the way it works. You can wire it up so it stays on all the time or only when you back up. thats one of many ways you can do this without upgrading the radio to a navigation unit.

I agree. The VR3 system is nice.

Well it's not the cheapest but it has advantages to it. You can get a flip out headunit that has a dvd player. Search craigslist or fleabay. You can wire a camera to the headunit. The image will be clear as day. You can leave it viewing the rear while driving and still be able to function the cd player/stereo. Like I said, it's not the cheapest but it is a nice set up.
