Default Vent tube or loose tube..?!?

Hi!
I have had the known "pump rub"-problem on my transfer case, and when I was under the truck I found a tube above the transfer case that was open in this end, and I cant find any place it would fit so I need to know if this is right or something is wrong here....

Hmmm, I tried to see where it came from, and it looked like it came from the front, either the trans or the engine, but I had to pick up my younger son so I didn't have time to check further, and I'm not sure I can see/feel where it comes from from the underside, maybe if I can get a camera or so I might see better...
