1990 Corsica radiator fountain
I started my car today to a low fluid light (I know I have a small leak). But when I opened the hood to refill the antifreeze, I saw what looked like a CSI scene. Antifreeze splatter all over. The house running from the resevoir was in tact and fine, but there seems to be another small hose missing from the front (the spout is tapered to hold a hose on). Then there is another spout on the top that I don`t know what it is, but they clearly were both shooting antifreeze when the car was turned on. I looked all over but found no hose to connect to either one, and the Haynes book doesn't picture this car (1990 3.1 6 cylinder). So what is going on? How can I fix it? What are these mystery spouts?

Is there a steel tube coming from the top of the thermostat housing? or is there a bleeder screw?....If it has a steel tube, i belive it goes onto thespout on the side. Does antifreeze accually come out of that spout when the enigine is running? The nipple on the top of the rad is where another model would support the rad.

The steel tube comes out the bottom of the housing and runs to the heater core. I couldn`t locate a bleeder screw. And yes antifreeze shoots out the front spout when the car is running.

Some cars had a 1/4" steel tube coming ffrom the top of the housing, sounds like yours doesn't have that.If there is no other leak under the hood, cap off the spout. The spout could have been used in another model car. Just like the top mount of the rad.
Use a 5/16"(or whatever size it is)hose with a bolt in it and just clamp it off. Or go to a parts store to see if they have some kind of cap for it that you can clamp on.
