Hello, I have a 1996 corsica 3.1L V6 and for some reason the transmission isnt shifting into 2nd gear until i get to 30 mph. It started doing this after I replaced the throttle position sensor. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Hello, sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Corsica, I have the same car but my tranny has been bulletproof.
Anyway I looked it up and what could be causing it to do this is a computer or solenoid, BUT since it is having problems in reverse it might be time for a new transmission, how many miles are on the car? Also has it been driven nice or rough.
I will check in a while to see if you responded but I hope that you can find the problem with your car as the Corsica is a very nice car.

Check the trans fluid level after its at temp and idling.
Check for bad, or broken/removed wires.
The big multi-wire plug on the front of the trans on the driver side is the plug that connects to all the shift solenoids.
And do like he said above, check the shift selector cable.
If the level is correct, its most likely a bad solenoid.
How many miles are on it? How long since the oil & filter was changed on the transmission?
