Hello,
New to forum and 96 Chevy Corsica. Car was purchased with power steering pump out (seal and bearing failure) noticed after removing that the pump was a re-man and did not apear to be very old. Purchased a rebuilt pump. Flushed out system by plumbing the return line into a container and ran fluid through until return fluid was clear, turned wheel from, lock to lock while doing this. Hooke dup the return line and filled. System seemed fine, steering effort is OK, pump sounds OK but drove a mile down the road and the pump began to whine. Stopped to check fluid and was so hot it was boiling. Since the old pump was recent Im thinking other problems besides bad reman pump? Bad rack or control? Thanks in advance.

power steering pumps have a 100 km break in period. In that time you'll hear whining and see lots of air bubbles in the fluid. give it about a week and keep an eye on the fluid to see if the problem goes away
