88 Firebird
Hello all.
I just bought a 88 Firebird. I know it's not a Camaro, I do know when they started making these they had Pontiac engines in them, but I think they 88 were GM engines. (same as a Camaro) It has a 2.8 V-6 that is blown. My friend thinks he can get a rebuilt 327 for $50. I do want a V-8. I bought it for $500. I am curious to know if anyone knows of any problems or things I should look out for with this car.
I would appreciate any help.
Thank You.

The paint looks like 18 year old paint but in good shape. It has 2 small dents, but nothing else is really wrong with it.
I am going to get the engine, from a friends brother, but we are going to take it apart and make sure everything is good, add new seals, and retorque everything.
I am only getting it for 50 cause of my friend and it's his brothers.
Well see what it looks like though.

In 86 they went to a 1 peice rear main seal and changed the flex/flywheel bolt pattern on the small blocks so the plate you have wont work. 327's are pre 86 but there is a plate that will work (aftermarket).V8 frame and engine mounts from a camaro or firebird donor, exhaust manifolds.
