Why would you want to disable On-Star?

Once your subscription runs out it already is.I wouldn't worry much, they don't listen in on your conversations. That's seems to be the only reason people ask.

To answer your question in a nut shell, you can't disable it without affecting other systems in your vehicle. It is possible but complicated as it is tied in with the the BCM.Not worth the effort or expense and degrades resale.

If your paranoid, put some tin foil over your Onstar antenna.

I would agree, unless you are someone of high profile and importance, once that subscription runs out OnStar could care less, you are but one of MILLIONS of OnStar units out there...
You can check your owners manual for the fuse locations, and the OnStar module is likely on there however the circuit likely serves other features like the radio and entertainment system...
Contacting OnStar and asking them to remove service is something they can do for you... in order to get the service back you would have to initiate an OnStar button push...

I did a quick google and found this: [not sure if their disable=the OP level of disabling]

https://www.onstar.com/web/fmv/termsconditions?g=1

You can also call us or press the blue OnStar button in your vehicle at any time to get instructions on how to disable the OnStar systems in your vehicle.

And there are some youtubes which I haven't watched:

All this is common knowledge....

The OP was asking where the module is indicating it's removal to permanently disable onstar, which really isn't possible.

The PID,BCM,Radio, speakers,ECM and even the door chime's are all interfaced.

That's how onstar can shut the Car down if stolen, and read you CEL codes, etc.

Yes big brother is watching
