Default 1985 Caprice Classic coupe build

This will be a start to finish build log. Not just audio.. but new motor, rims, paint & a bunch of other stuff.

Car is a 1985 Chevy Caprice Classic 2 door. Motor is popped and I'm in the market for a 350 to drop in. Here are the pics.

Pulling it home.

Got it home. Yes, headlights are being replaced. Previous owner spray tinted them. :fp:

Stickers will be removed and entire car will be debadged other than a couple badges.

Front fender damage is an easy fix. New fender isn't that expensive.

Already got a set of true duals. These things went on right before the motor popped. Should sound something sexy with the new 350 and a nice cam.

Interior is flawless other than the floorboards. Needs shampooed and some TLC.

Sat in a garage for ~12 years.. meaning no direct sunlight. No cracks FTW!

Will update as the project progresses. This is my first REAL project vehicle. So it's not gonna be an overnight thing. It'll take at LEAST a year to get EVERYTHING I want done to it unless I get one of the jobs I've been after.

Wow I'm sorry for the huge pictures. All the other forums I'm on have an auto-resize feature.

edit: Resized pictures on imgur account, hopefully it corrects it here.

Sold stupid chrome rims off of it & broke even on the car. Only had $375ish into it to begin with.. rims sold for $400 w/tires & paid $40 for steelies w/junk tires to move it between paint and mechanic before I buy new wheels/tires.

I like that bodystyle with only 2 doors. Any motors turning up yet?

It looks like you have a nice foundation for your project. Depending on the type and color of paint you plan on using you may be better off painting the car as a whole rather than individual pieces. Candy, pearl and metallic colors can be a real PITA to match when the pieces are sprayed seperately and/or with different paint mixes.

Don't feel bad, man. I've got 2000+ views on my Caprice build thread but I'm the only one that ever posts in it for some reason LOL

Nice project car to start with. I found one myself, been looking for a while they seem to be hard to find in Florida. I have far more work to do then you have. But if you are still looking for a motor I have a 350 in mine that I'm going to remove. Hit me up if your interested. Also would like to know if you could share any companies that have parts for this car. Even in your area.
