dose changing the engine requires changing the computer
when i changed my caprice engine ( 8 cylinders) with new one
.i notes the car torque is weak like if it is 4 cylinders .
did i buy the wrong type of engine ?
do i have to change the computer ( control module )?
how to figure if the engine and gearbox are matching?
on the road as i accelerate , i hear the fan spinning loud but the car dose not speed.
what are the types of caprice engine and the proper gearbox that fit with it .

Just did this on my 96 Impala SS. Dont know if you went with a similar set up of drastic engine swap. went from 96 SS LT1 to 97 Camaro SS LT1. Went through 3 CPUs (97, 2-96) 2 months down time and ended up using my original 1 but had to rewire the harness to make all the sensors work. Best advise use wiring harness and CPU from car the engine is from. It will save alot of time and headache.
