My Captiva is using 2 quarts per 1000 miles. Has there been a bulletin or a recall? This engine is a disaster. Chevrolet failed when the put this thing on the road. I cannot even sell it without spending $8000.00 per my mechanic for a new GM Crate motor!!! Why would I double down on Chevy when they won't support there customers when they fail?

 

2 quarts of motor oil is unaceptable for 1000 miles I agree, Likely this will end up clogging the EGR valve and desroying your catalitic converter and 02 sensors.
