Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me. My wife has a 99 Cavilier, the other day she was getting off the freeway and a dog or somthing ran in front of he. She swerved out of the way and smacked into the curb.

The rim wan bent to hell, but thats an easy fix. My prob is when she got home and shut the car off the key wouldnt go to the lock position and is stuck in there. I have to disconnect the battery every time we park cause the lights and stuff are on.

Anyone have any ideas? Cash is kinda tight right now so im trying to take care of it myself. if all else fails ill take it in but im hopin for some help here.

Thanks for lettin me whine to you guys, take care.

If you haven't already fixed it try to pull the steering wheel hard to the left or right while trying to turn off the key. I know this sounds crazy but sometimes if the steering wheel has alot of pressure on it it will cause the ignition to become jammed.
^^ x2 ^^ If she hit the curb hard enough it could have knocked it out of tow or even alignment and the pressure on the wheels are keeping you from being able to remove the key. The ingition module is a thought, however I am more prone to believe it is something with the suspension / sterring mechanism after the incident. Unfortunately, I think that you will probably have to bring it in to have that stuff evaluated. Good Luck with it.
