Default 2.2l differences/ similarities

Have a 97 and a 2000 cavalier, both with 2.2L auto. Looking to put the 2000 in the 97. As far as i know it will bolt up. Is there anything I need to know before tryng. Would like to swap intake exhaust from 97 onto 2000 motor so all I would be using would be block, head, oil pan, valve cover from the 2000. any info would be great.

i think the computers are mounted in different spots and some air lines for the evap canister are slightly different also

just park them side by side and see

with the right tools and knowledge you can do anything

From what I can gather the difference is in the SFI verses non SFI. I would be using the computer for the car which would be Non SFI. Just looking fro more info before jumping headfirst. i am an ASE Master Certified Tech and am completely capable, but I am a ford guy, and just looking for a confirmation that I would get it togehter and they use a differerent cam/ crank sensor and not possible to retrofit. Hate to get that far and find something stupid like that.

Thanx in advance

oh
well as for that stuff i am not sure
being u are a master ase you should be able to look at the sensors and tell the difference between them
you know if they are a hall effect or what not
number of wires usually is the easiest way
just take the whole wire harness

i have seen a 3.8 in a 98 cavalier so its possible to shove other motors in there
