2002 Cavalier Stopped Running
I have a 2002 Cavalier LS 2 Door, with a 2.2L 4 Cylinder.
I was driving on the freeway, when I exited, I noticed a sound that sounded like metal dragging on the ground. I stopped on the exit and checked, nothing was dragging, then I noticed while I was stopped, that the dragging noise continued.
I continued on my way home, and about 3-4 miles down the road, my car made kind of like a 'poof' noise or something, then stopped running. And it wont start, it cranks, but wont start.
What could the problem be?
Thanks for your help.

i dont think that the new 1's have a timing chain but have gear drivin timing the way to check the timing is pull the valve cover and chank it see if the valves r working if there r its something else if not it maybe the chain or gears it could be a ignition problem

Guy, I have an 02 with similar problem. Just stopped after running in limp mode for like 2 minutes. Have replaced the coil pack, the 02 sensor, crank sensor, plugs. Still won't fire. Checked timing chain and it was great. Any ideas?
