I have a 2003 cavalier, just noticed tonight when I had to punch the gas pedal cause some idiot flying down the road that my engine was ticking. I popped the hood, and its coming from the timing chain.

Last week I hit a pothole which bottomed out that side, bent the engine mount a little, and now I hear noise which sounds like the chain is loose. I saw videos on youtube, and its making that ticking noise, but when I took the valve cover off, removed the top chain guide their wasn't much play. I know what a loose chain looks like, and this one is just right.

Any suggestions before I rip the side of the engine apart?
