98 Cavalier Jumping Time???
OK guys I think I need some help and advice. I have a 98 Cavalier with 120,000 miles on it and I am having some issues with it. About a week ago I started hearing a funny noise coming from the exhaust like something was different about it then I started hearing the loud clanking noise coming from under the alternator. Looks like the alternator belt is hitting against something but that don't explain why the car is running like crud now. The transmission don't change smoothly like before and after I start it the motor acts like it wants to stall and the clanking noise is pretty loud. I ask someone if I had blown it up but they think that it has jumped time... What do you guys think? Is he right and if so how much am I looking at??? .. Thanks for all your help...
