1. How do I Determine why my 10A crank fuse is blowing every time I start my car? I can't keep buying fuses so I start my car with ignition on and an insulated screw driver making a connection on the starter. I am taking of the fuse box under the hood to see if there are any shorts against the frame to start with. Any other Ideas would be helpful. 2. After looking at my 2001 cav fuse box under the hood I followed the two wires that lead away from the fuse that is blowing. A small purple wire goes down to the harnessed mess of wires that split into 3 different directions under the battery box. The other a large yellow wire goes through the fire wall to the Ignition. I have some problems with my ignition key turning to start at tiimes. Could A problem with a short be in the ignition? The harness the the purple wire goes into doesn't appear to have any breaks or signs of being disturbed. I 'm inclined to believe its either the starter itself or the Ignition switch. Any thoughts

A 10 amp fuse would be for the control circuit, so that would be the ignition switch or possibly the starter solenoid. It could also be a shorted wire anywhere in the starter circuit. Try a wire from the positive battery terminal to the solenoid with a fuse in line to see if it starts without blowing the fuse. This will tell you if the problem is in the solenoid or the switch and or wiring.
