the fan delays
can any one help me to know, does the fan in chevy cavalier1996 start working when the pointer ( heat gague) reach the mid area or untile reach the high area , i ask this question cause i did'nt hear my fan works, i can hear the fan only when i start the AC

Not sure the exact temp reading for the fan to go on, but my wife's 96 will go on by itself when the car is parked & keys out. But this is after she runs 100 miles around town. Basically, the fan will come on when it senses too much heat. What is too much?? Got me. But if your gage hits high end & no fan, wait a few minutes. If no fan, you have an issue. When was the last antifreeze check / change? Are you using the orange stuff recommended on the hood sticker?
Also, the ac adds extra heat to the system, so the fan coming on with ac on is good.

i run about 4 miles only that's why i think my pointer stopped to the middle , i didn't change ( flush the collant) since 2004 , i just added orange stuff for chevy.
