Default Got a interesting issue. 04 Cav 2.2

Alright so I've given up on researching and trying to figure out what this problem is myself. So I'm hoping someone may be able to shoot me some ideas.

So when this started, I had just changed the oil and replaced the filter. It drives fine that day, but the next morning it spins and starts and then dies 1sec later. Almost like the fuel pump is out. However I have no eng check light up. So after trying it a few times, I notice my theft system light isn't doing a check when the key is turned on, but all other lights are. So I thought, well it thinks it's being stolen right? So I do the passlock relearn procedure. Nothing. Do it again, nothing. An again..nothing.
Okay, so I then take off the column panels after looking up online about the ignition wires getting loose. Mine are not loose however.

So, I decided to try an see if any check codes were popping up even though there was never a check engine light on. However I try with 3 different snap-on code readers I own and all of them say "error, can't communicate with system"

Now lastly here, the engine DOES run. How? Well, I figured out, if I drain the battery to literally almost dead. Like one crank from dying, the car will actually start and run. ( I think just to charge the battery?) I don't know any other reason. When it runs however, the cluster lights all turn off, and the gauges do not work. But if the battery IS charged where the car will NOT start, the lights and gauges will work.

Sorry for the wall of text but if you read an reply, I would be very grateful

first things first
make sure the scan tool communication issue isn't just a blown fuse at the dlc link connector
this fuse powers the cigarette lighter also and its common for it to blow when charging computers, phones etc.
it may be labelled cig fuse in the underhood fuse box

Ahh yes I did forget to mention the fuses. The second thing I actually did was check every fuse in the fuse box and the fuses under the hood. The CIG lighter fuse was blown, I replaced it, but it made no difference. Every other fuse in the car was fine and the CIG lighter I suspect blew way before this. Like 2 years ago. As i haven't been able to use either CIG lighters in the car for anything, including phone chargers in the passenger side for a long time. After i replaced the fuse however, they work with the battery on.

so now do you have power to the scan tool? will it power up and communicate with any module? check all modules.
the dlc connector pin 16 must have volts and pins 4 & 5 provide ground.

No I meant I replaced the fuse as one of the first things I tried. An it didn't make a difference.
So no the scan tools don't communicate.
I've checked all the modules wiring and the dlc connector wiring. I haven't checked the voltage on the connector but i did check if it had any power running to it at all and it does.

i would check the communication pins for power...i will have to check which pins on the dlc are used for comm.
i would want to know why the scan tool will power up but not communicate.

Sorry for late replying. Work ya know.
Anyway, I looked up the diagram and figured out which pins to check and the communication pins are indeed hot. I did also try the theft bypass yesterday with the correct ohm resistor, and it did absolutely nothing. I also did the passlock reset afterwards 3 different times. So I just put the wires back together as they're suppose to be.
