Post speed sensor

I have a 97 chevy cavalier coupe 2.2 I need to know if they consider the automatic overdrive as a speed. so I show 1,2and drive on my shifter and I have automatic overdrive is that still a 3 speed or a 4 speed. I need to know so I can get the proper Vehicle Speed Sensor. Plz let me know if I need any more info posted

Yours should have the 3T40 transaxle, i.e., 3-speed. I think what you're calling the "overdrive" is just the TCC engaging.
