Default Want to upgrade 98 2.2 Cavalier engine. Ideas Needed!

Hello all, I an a all-time fan of the cavalier and about 2 years ago I swapped my 1997 2.2 engine for the 1998 2.2 engine. Now with extra time (and $) I would like to upgrade it. I originally planned on doing a complete factory rebuild but I said why not go performance? I know everything there is to know about rebuilding. What I am asking is for ideas on upgrades. Price is not a factor, so any info would be great!

Thanks,
Joe

Default Thats a great turbo kit.

But don't get it first.

1. SBC rocker mod.
2. mild port and polish.
3. Lower compression pistons.

If you want to go forced induction, thats your best option befor just buying a kit. There are so many factors for a kit. What turbo is it? How many cfm does it run. Just randoms. Not to mention, you will need a proper dyno tune to run over 6 psi, colder spark plugs, premium fuel NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE. There is alot of factors in performance for the ln2. its more machine work that will make the power for these motors.

There are several ways you can uprade. Just take the right steps into doing it. With the little room u have u the hood. Drop a z 24 from the newer model cavaliers. They put out extreme performance. Bore it over to you're disire. But then u need an upraged transmission. Go with the manual. Install and exhaust and muffler kit. Perfer the flowmasters with performance catalytic converter. I install a cold air intake. Perfer k&n. Oil cooler. Power module screen to see what you're cars doing without a dyno test...ECT
