This car came into the shop about 3 months ago. It a was complete car at that time. I would have more picture if I new what was going to happen. The owner of the car is the original owner. It was repainted 1 time in 1979. The DOT #s on the Montgomery Wards tires were from 70.Then in the early 80's it was parked in his garage where it sat until sometime in the spring/summer of 2011. My uderstanding from my boss (Pat Goss)the guy changed the oil, put in fresh fuel and a battery,then turned the key. Which in turn bent almost all the push rods. We got the car with the valve covers off with instructions to see what the engine need to run. Upon removal of a head we found valve steams and cam shaft were ruined from rust and corrsion.

Here is wher the fun started. We pulled engine and trans out and sent them to Jasper Engine and Transmissions for a # matching rebuild. While they were out of the car customer had us ask body shop next door for a price to clean up engine compartment. Well since we were already replaceing all Ball joints bushing and brakes. They decided to repaint frame,control arms coil springs etc... Basicly this this thing is now being restored, Body shop is now painting the engine (OE color) Firewall, drive shaft , and 5 wheels which we have brand new redline tires for it. They are going to repair a tiny bit of rust in the trunk (only rust on the car). Replace the only bad piece on chrome on the car. Buff the car (they say it thats all it needs) and get the seats recovered. The rest of the interior looks like new. I will post more pics as it goes together.

Can I offer a suggestion, if you haven't already done it? Did you replace the heater core? If not, I would convince the owner it is an excellent idea while you can still reach it without tearing the right front wheel well out, and turning yourself into Gumby to replace the original once the car is completly reassembled... The antifreeze that sat in the core for all those years is probably more like acid now. Beautiful automobile by the way. Looking forward to the next pics!! I just sold my '69 el Camino and am already kicking myself in the a$$........ Not as good a shape as that '67 as far as I can see, but not bad at all for the age. Mechanically perfect, but needed body work. I basically did everything you are doing as far as the frame and front suspension. I also converted to front disc brakes, resurected the factory air and kept it a R12 system, all body mount bushings, new dash pad and bezel and way too much else to mention. I really screwed up selling that car....... Good luck and can't wait to see the pics.....

The coolant actually ate the t-stat housing. We did replace it already. We think he should remove the air because it was not factory installed but he wabt it (can not say I blame him). Hopefully we will updata it to a newer system and charge it with 134-a

Wheel and tire before paint. 2 fronts were painted, redline tires mounted and balanced, then installed on the rear. 3 remaining wheels at the body shop to be painted inside and out. As soon as we have 4 wheels on it the engine will be painted the installed.

Engine back from body shop. I think color maybe of slightly but it will still look good.
