Door Lock Issue
I just purchased an 06 Cobalt LS, price was good so we were expecting to encounter some minor issues. We had our mechanic check the engine and electrics and all that is fine.
But our first morning with the car we discovered our first issue. The key won't lock or unlock the driver side door. The key works fine in the passenger door.

the lock cylinder may be seized from lack of lubrication and lack of use.
dip the blade of the key in new engine oil and repeatedly put it in and out of the lock cylinder. Do this 4 or 5 times to fully lube the cylinder with oil. Then try to turn the key in the cylinder...wiggling it one way then the other.
