Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default Performance Chip & Cold Air Intake

I have a 2008 Cobalt LS and I'm thinking about putting a performance chip and the cold air intake on my car, I'm just wondering if anybody knows if it worth putting on the car. How well dothey work?

Default RE: Performance Chip & Cold Air Intake

I can't say anything about that chip in particular, but if it's done right, it can free up some HP. Usually these cars are tuned for emissions, and to some extent gas milage out of the factory. A retune can tell a car to optimize power instead.

I'm looking to do a CAI on my aveo too. Kits are harder to come by for me, but they might actually have one already built for the cobalt. The key is to make sure you're piping cold air from somewhere rather than letting it suck in hot engine bay air. Let us know how it goes, and I'll post pics when I get mine done too.
