Milex Pre-purchase Inspection
I found a great-looking 2020 Colorado WT with 63k miles. AutoCheck says it is a 1-owner. Mint interior. Very good exterior. The Milex Vehicle Health Report (Milex is a complete car care franchise of independently owned repair shops. They have been in business so they say for over 40-yrs & have grown to 39 stores in 13 states. They co-brand with Mr. Transmission. They do diagnostics apparently with Bosch brand equipment since Bosch is printed on each page of what they call the Vehicle Health Report. I paid them about $80 to give a 3rd-party opinion on the vehicle.) Their Report noted several issues but stated the only thing that needed Urgent attn was a broken brake caliper & a brake pad that had been worn to 2mm. The Diagnostic Scan Results showed "Not Scanned" for: TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE; AMPLIFIER; CHASSIS CONTROL MOD AUXILIARY; FRONTVIEW CAMERA - WINDSHIELD; and HUMAN MACHINE INTERFACE MODULE. The Report showed "Scanned With Errors" for: ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE; AIRBAG; CLIMATE (HVAC); HVAC CONTROLS; INSTRUMENT CLUSTER; and POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. The Milex guy said the only thing the truck urgently needs is to repair the 1 damaged brake. The Report further shows: Lost Communication With Transmission & Engine Control Modules. And finally, The Report shows "Scanned No errors/Passed for: PASSENGER PRESENCE, BODY CONTROL, RADIO - RADIO, SERIAL DATA GATEWAY MOD PROC 1 & SERIAL DATA GATEWAY MOD PROC 2 modules. Is there anything in all of this Report that is a deal-breaker on the purchase? I'm supposed to sign for & pick up the truck Tuesday so I gotta know if I buy or walk. Thank you.
