Which Tonneau Cover Should I Buy??
Hey all, im thinking about getting a tonneau cover https://mechanicfaq.com/chevy-colorado-tonneau-covers/ for my truck. But i wanted some peoples input as to what to get. A friend of mine told me i should look into getting an 'Access Cover' so i went to the truck accessories store down the street and looked at it. It looks pretty nice, and they said its 500 installed. But then my dad told me that i shouldnt get a soft top cover because its going to 'rot out and get discolored' witht the weather. So i wanted to know peoples thoughts as to what to get, and anybody that has a soft cover let me know how yours has held up! i really just want all input, but its either i get a cheap soft top cover(like access or truxedo) or i go all out and get a fiberglass ARE or LEER tonneau cover. Thanks ahead of time for your responces!

I bought a tri-fold softcover from Chevrolet which works well. It's easy to install and remove and it does a good job of keeping cargo dry. Also locks closed when you lock the tailgate, but a knife would make short work of it. I've had it for about 4 months but I don't leave it on the truck all the time so I don't know how it will hold up.

I would suggest to use something more easy to use and more reliable like Truxedo TruXport Roll-up Tonneau Cover ( here it is in the top: https://truckcoverexpert.com/best-ro...onneau-covers/ ), and I can recommend it cause I've been using it for last two years and it works perfectly, in any weather and climate changes. Easy to use and reliable, every part of it.
I'm seeking advice from seasoned Ford owners. My husband and I will soon take delivery of an F-150 Lariat EcoBoost which we'll use to pull our travel trailer. We want to have a tonneau cover installed to store extra camping gear as our 3 basset hounds will be taking over the crew cab! Which is best in terms of ease of use, watertightness, durability, etc - - - a retractable or rolling cover or one of those with the flip-up panels?? Your expert advice is appreciated - - - thanks!
I had a soft cover Truxedo Lo-pro installed on my 2016 Colorado right after it was purchased. Nine years following and never had a problem with it. Faded a little maybe but you can use something to keep its luster (not armor all) if you like. The manufacturer will recommend a different product. It can be broken into easily enough if a thief wants but I never left anything of value in it overnight and was never an issue. If you can’t park it in a garage and you worry about break-ins, you may want to consider a hard top.
