New ZR1 oh my god that thing is awesome!!!
Well I went to the grand rapids auto show today and saw the new corvette zr1 and it is freaking awesome. Everythin from the 638hp engine to the doorlock mechanism is just unparalleled. I would honestly take this car over any Porsche. 0-60in3.4 seconds is almost unfathomable to me. I can't even begin to explain how releived I am that an American company has finally essentially built a supercar for a fractionn of the cost of the norm. I was disgusted by the camaro though

And after watching Top Gear tonight, It has become one of only like 3 cars that are made in America that they don't make out to be a complete peice of BS. Even though they did mention it was designed by a fat bloke in kentucky

ZR1 is awesome. Take into consideration it's 20k over msrp so your looking at 130 to 140 with tax. ZO6 63k to 70 K.
ZR1 is only 2/10's faster to 60, and not even 1 second faster to 100. Gotto go with the ZO6. Plus the ZO6 doesn't have that goofy hole in the hood. "what were they thinking there".

I kinda like that goofy glass hole, it reminds me of a ferrari...
I think that the major difference between ZR-1 and Z06 is not so much top speed or 0-60, but handling. The ZR-1 can pull 1g when cornering and look at those bright blue ceramic brakes...
I hear many people complaining about the price, but when you think about it, both the ZR-1 and Z06 are relatively cheap in relation to comparable cars. A Zr-1 has been smoking cars that cost anywhere from $200k-$400k, which is a pretty cool trade off if you ask me.
Also keep in mind, when the Z06 first came out you were looking at an $80k-$90k MSRP and thats dropped quite a bit. I don't exactly know where you are getting that markup from though. I know that you can pick one up for about $99k around here

The zr-1 is awesome. As far as the camaro goes, I was not impressed by it. I would much rather drive a challenger than a camaro. The challenger looks like the old ones, instead of a transformer, and that's awesome.

See if you can follow the relation here...my wife's cousins ex brother-in-law hit the mega millions in VA about 3 or 4 weeks ago for over 70+million$$. He took it in one lump sum so he got something over 35 million. But I heard from said cousin that the first thing he went out to buy was this ZR1. I don't know if he got it yet but I'll try to get some pics of it -IF- I ever see him again! I get the feeling we've all seen the last of him.
