Default 06 vs 08

Is it safe to have 06 rotors, brakes, and calipers OK a 2008 equinox? I keep telling the mechanic its an 08, but they keep putting 06, they just did the above mentioned, as well as brake hoses. Will I be safe to keep 06 on it, or should I contact the shop?

No, the 2007-2009 brake parts are all different from those on 2005-2006 models. If the front calipers are hanging up, replace only the hoses first unless you know for sure the calipers are bad. The front hoses go bad all the time and cause the calipers to not release. A lot of folks replace the front calipers when it wasn't needed as a result. Furthermore, 2005-2006 models have rear drum brakes and 2007-2009 models have rear disc brakes.
