I'm going to do a simple radiator drain and fill on my 2014 Equinox (2.4 4 cyl). Wondering if anyone has done this on this vintage and had any tips? Main concerns are 1) damaging the petcock at the radiator drain and 2) trapping air in the system. Thanks

Quit worrying and do it. Once you've flushed it and added coolant, just get the motor hot with the cap off. Once it gets near to the cap, close it off. You are done.

Per factory service, refill engine and radiator by removing upper radiator hose at the engine block. Install hose. Then fill tank. Run until operating temp. Cycle engine for 1 minute at 3k rpm, 2 min idle, repeat until fans come on. Idle until temp returns to 190F. Repeat process several times. Top off tank, and check for heat in core. The drain valve can be replaced, has o-ring.
