There is a button in front of my shift level on my Equinox, looked in the manual but it didn't say what it did. I assume you push it if you are pulling a trailer but I want to know exactly what is different when it's engaged.

At minimum, it changes the shift points when pulling a heavy trailer or boat. It'll basically shift at higher rpms per gear so it has more power to tow. Looks like the equinox also has Automatic Engine Grade Braking so when going down hills, it'll use the transmission and engine to help with braking. Overdrive may also be disabled when in tow mode but I'm not sure about the equinox.
