Default 2024 Equinox Drive Train Vibration.

I took delivery of this 2024 AWD Equinox on 1/13/2024 , from West Herr Chevrolet Hamburg NY, and on the drive home took notice of the drive line vibration. I brought it up to the Salesman, loan Manager, Service Manager, Mechanic and finally the Branch Manager. We took the Car in twice to no avail and was told it’s inherent to the vehicle because of Federal mileage standards! It’s because the transmission shifts into the higher gear at apx. 32mph and the car vibrates until you reach apx. 40 mph. Chevrolet is aware of this but hasn’t come up with a re-program for the transmission computer to resolve the problem. So GM knows about it but doesn’t appear to be doing anything about it at this point.

please don't post in that awful grey color. Your post is completely unreadable. Thanks.

Well that's nonsense of course. You need to hound GM about it, but they'll probably keep blowing you off.

Took a ride with a Service Manager and we found the car actually shifts into 6th gear, which is overdrive,at about 32 mph which causes the car to vibrate. Placing the shifter in L and selecting L5 stops the car from shifting into 6th gear overdrive. Over 40mph you can simply shift it into D or press shifter button while in L5 to shift it into 6th gear overdrive. I got a call a few days later and the Service Manager said 2 other Equinox’s that they tested had the same vibration! At this point I don’t believe GM will do anything to resolve this. It appears they put a too small engine with turbo in this car, and adjusted the transmission to meet federal mpg standards! This is my 8th new GM Car that will be my last.

They're feeding you a load of horse manure to blow you off. If you see a car dealer's lips moving, it means they're lying to you.
They probably built the torque converters cheaply and they're warping.

They have to. New cars shouldn't vibrate. Inherent or not, and regardless of how many others have the problem. YOU want satisfaction.
Put your gorilla suit on and check your state lemon laws.

Default Thanks for the replies.

The torque converters would have to be defective from the get go as the car had 6 miles on it when I noticed the vibrations. As far as the lemon laws I will check on it, however GM’s position is it’s normal with the vehicle!

It is the dealership's "position" to make up whatever BS is necessary to convince you to go away , so they can weasel out of warranty repair and save money. Or have you talked to anybody at GM about it?
They are not the same.

It's not a position that they can justifiably defend, and they are counting on you to give up and walk away.

Same old game.

Default Same old BS

I agree. They don’t care about you after you buy the car.

They don't care about you before either. All they care about is making the sale.
And hey, if company goes under because they keep make crappy cars, no worries! The government will give them your money anyway.
